Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actor, known for her performances in the film Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! She began her career in the 80s before coming to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she appeared with the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her next appearance was in Dil which she was on screen with Aamir. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she started learning dancing at a young age. As a young woman when she began to act, she was not successful as a lot of her movies were unsuccessful. Then she found her way to success and she became one of the top actresses in the Indian film industry. Following her wedding, she took a break from her acting career before returning. Recently, she was an integral part of Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit has been nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these she's received 8. Padma Shri was awarded to her, which is India's fourth highest civil honor. Her social work is also popular.
